Miami, Florida, Appeals Attorneys
When a trial fails to put a conflict to rest, we can offer our clients a full-range of appellate services. At Levey, Filler, Rodriguez, Kelso & De Bianchi, LLP, we have handled countless numbers of appeals for our clients and have been a part of breaking new ground by creating changes in the law. Appeals are not presented using witnesses, but are argued based on written briefs and oral argument presented by an attorney.
Experienced in Appellate Courts at the State and Federal Levels
At Levey, Filler, Rodriguez, Kelso & De Bianchi, LLP, partner John R. Kelso brings 37 years of experience in litigating appeals of civil and commercial matters. He has presented arguments in multiple state and federal appellate courts and the Florida Supreme Court on behalf of clients. A successful appeal involves the writing of detailed and persuasive briefs and the creation and presentation of compelling oral arguments.
Establishing Your Appeal or Defending an Appeal
We are well aware of the need to preserve certain arguments during the initial trial. This preservation comes in the form of documents and testimony admitted into evidence, the trial court’s rulings, and the transcript of the proceedings. Even if we have not litigated the initial trial, we will review court records and transcripts to seek to establish a foundation to file your appeal of an adverse ruling or judgment. If your adversary appeals a judgment rendered in your favor, we can also seek to establish your defense to the appeal.
